Summary of the programme

The Parks for People programme was a joint initiative between the Big Lottery Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The joint initiative finishes in March 2009.

Our vision is that everyone should have access to a local park for enjoyment and recreation. Parks for People builds on the two Lottery Funds' shared commitment to bring real improvements to local environments by making a lasting impact on the lives of local people and the places where they live.

The Heritage Lottery Fund will continue to run the Parks for People programme without BIG's involvement from April 2009, and are currently accepting applications for the programme. For further information on the programme and details of how to apply, please visit the Heritage Lottery Fund
